Housegroups
Our Housegroup meets regularly on Tuesday evenings, following a pattern of worship, bible study, discussion and fun.
A Taste of Taize
This is a style of worship
experienced at Taize, a Christian commmunity in France
founded by Brother Roger as a Centre for peace and
reconciliation, after the Second World War. The brothers
here welcome Chrsitian pilgrims from every denomination and
many parts of the globe, and travel themselves to needy
areas in our world in spiritual and social mission.
The service includes verses of
scripture, Taize worship songs or chants, which are very
short and oftten quotes from scripture and sung a number of
times. Also included is a time of shared intercession and a
ten minute silence in which we can meditate on God's grace
and His depth of love for us and for all the people He has
created through Christ Jesus. Art, candles, movement,
scripture, silent prayers are tools in helping us into that
special place of intimacy with our Lord.
The service is based in silence
as an opportunity for an individual quiet time but held
corporately as united Body of Christ, to draw together from
the wellspring of living water, the Holy Spirit. It has
been described as a spiritual 'chill out'.
A Taize song;
The Lord is my light
my light and salvation
In God I trust
In God I trust.
